There is no ideal solution when it comes to automated driving. However, the “right” combination of sensors and algorithms and a connection to Artificial Intelligence (AI) will surely achieve the goal. The fusion of simulation and real driving data can help robust results to be achieved quickly. In the meantime, AI is one of the key concepts used in this domain and many rate it as a prerequisite for autonomous driving. However, it will be crucial for its success to determine how the processes are validated and safeguarded in order to successfully navigate through a homologation process and also to ensure the useful and controlled further development of functions even during the vehicle’s life.
