Big Obstacles Ahead for Bluetooth
Despite the longstanding promise of Bluetooth, problems with the Hands-Free Profile still limit automotive applications of the standard to only the most basic cell phone functions. The Bluetooth Car Working Group is attempting to increase Bluetooth functionality with a new Hands-Free Profile, version 2.0.

High-Performance Hybrids Could Spark U.S. Market
Carmakers are increasing the power and performance of hybrid vehicles like the Toyota Prius and, later this year, the Honda Accord in an effort to broaden their appeal. Toyota expects to sell 100,000 hybrids in the U.S. beginning in 2005.
